Indonesia’s Bornevia, a customer relationship management software, is shutting down. It sent an email to its customers today, telling them they can migrate their data to Zendesk – a rival service – or other similar services.

“In connection with the decision of our investors, by the end of April 2017, Bornevia will shut down its software service. This is because the investors will carry out a liquidation of Bornevia’s assets,” the email says in Indonesian.

It adds customers will receive a refund for the months beyond April if they have already paid for a full-year subscription.

The startup had raised a pre-series A round of funding from East Ventures and Beenos Partners in 2015.

Hari Hartas, a Bornevia employee handling customer management, confirmed the shutdown when Tech in Asia called the startup’s office, and said the company will make a formal announcement next week.

Willson Cuaca of East Ventures also confirms the startup’s closure.

Bornevia was founded by Benny Tjia and Tjiu Suryanto in 2014. The following year, it said it was serving 1,100 companies from over 60 countries, but didn’t disclose how many of them were paying users.

Tech in Asia has reached out to both co-founders to learn more about the factors that led to the shut down decision. We will update this story.
