Jakarta-based startup Deliveree has announced the addition of hundreds of motorbikes to its on-demand logistics and transportation platform.

This move will enable Deliveree’s customers to transport and send out smaller items such as documents, marketing materials, food, flowers, and other small parcels.

Launched in 2015, Deliveree’s mobile and web app allows customers to book and manage pickups and deliveries of goods, belongings, and cargo across Jabodetabek (Greater Jakarta). It currently has over 1,000 trucks, pickups, vans, MPVs, and city cars in its fleet.

“Before they [customers] used our city cars but now we can lower prices even further for them with our highly affordable motorbike solution,”said Mega Yanuar, Deliveree’s Head of Operations.

An increasing number of startups are tackling Indonesia’s logistics sector. While some, such as aCommerce provide last-mile fulfilment for e-commerce businesses, there are others oriented towards consumer needs. One such example is Go-box, which was launched by leading Indonesia-based transportation startup Go-Jek  last year.
