Indians love sharing on social media and hence the love affair with Facebook continues, according to a new report. WhichApp, a mobile app that helps users discover new applications that their friends use, has revealed results of a study that show that Facebook, WhatsApp retained their position and were the ‘most popular applications’ among Indians this year.

The top five also include Truecaller and UC Browser.

The popularity has been decided on the basis of the number of WhichApp users having and actively using the apps on their mobile phones. Only those apps which have been used at least once a month have been taken into account.

WhichApp also named MX Player, Flipkart, Candy Crush, Applock and Naukri as other popular apps among Indians.

“Our future plans are to localise for vernacular languages for the non-English speaking audience and roll-out in other countries as the app is only available in India right now,” said WhichApp Co-founder and CEO Kapil Chawla, in a release.

“The aim is to have 10 million users by December 2016,” he added. Currently, it has 100,000 users in the country.
