South Asia-focussed early-stage VC fund Jungle Ventures has appointed Vaishali Cooper, former CFO of e-commerce giant eBay and Komli Media, in the same position.

The fund has also roped in Menka Sajnani as Director of Corporate Development, while former Financial Controller at eBay James Lin has joined as Head of Finance.

As the CFO, Cooper will be a part of the Jungle Management team and will oversee the financial, accounting, tax and compliance functions at the fund. At the fund level, she and her team will be responsible for adherence to all compliance, regulation and financial reporting of Jungle’s various funds. On the portfolio front, she will oversee the performance of the investee companies and provide operating support as required.

As Director of Corporate Development, Sajnani will be responsible for building corporate, strategic and investor relations both for Jungle and its portfolio companies. Most recently, she was Regional Manager in the new business team at Google (Southeast Asia). Prior to that, she spent seven years at HQ Capital, where she was primarily responsible for making investments in Private Equity and VC funds, with a focus on Southeast Asia and India.

Lin will be in charge of portfolio financial reporting, LP reporting, due diligence on new investments and also providing operating support to portfolio companies in terms of process improvements and accounting.

Jungle has been steadily bolstering its team and last year added Ratan Tata to its roster as Senior Advisor, and David Gowdey from TPG Growth and Yahoo! as Managing Partner.

Jungle Ventures is a VC firm that invests in startups in Southeast Asia and South Asia — primarily India, Australia and New Zealand. Jungle’s portfolio includes LivSpace, Pokkt, Twitter-acquired Zipdial (all India); travelmob and CrayonData (both Singapore); iMoney and CatchThatBus (both Malaysia); Pomelo Fashion (Thailand); and Edrolo (Australia).
