The Indonesian fintech startup also introduced the ‘Charter of Responsible Lending’ in its features
Jakarta-based fintech startup UangTeman launched its first mobile app today, with the company claiming to be the first in Indonesia –even Southeast Asia– to launch a mobile app for short-term microloan platform.
“After almost a year of operating in Indonesia … we present a new mobile app to help ease the application process for short-term microloan. We also want to be closer to our customers,” said CEO Aidil Zulkifli in a statement.
He also claimed that 65 per cent of UangTeman users are accessing the platform through a mobile device, and the new mobile app makes it easier for them to apply for emergency loan.
The startup also revealed a feature on its platform called the ‘Charter of Responsible Lending’, a certificate that stated UangTeman’s commitment to give the best financial service to its users.
“We would like to thank our Board of Commissioners of Financial Service Authority who had given us opportunities to discuss about online financing regulations. We are looking forward to a more active participaation from the government to regulate and manage online financing business model like UangTeman,” said Zulkifli.

The startup also used the opportunity to announce expansion plans to new cities and towns in Indonesia, beginning from Bandung.
“We are open to possibilities to expand to cities such as Surabaya or Denpasar. It is our hope to become a solution in helping Indonesian society reach prosperity,” said Zulkifli.
UangTeman service is currently available in Greater Jakarta Area, Jogjakarta, Solo, Magelang, and Klaten.
