#Asia Gava wants to cultivate a lifestyle of generosity with the launch of its app

It’s like Instagram, but pink, and with all the content inviting you to help out a friend

Gava

Gava is all about giving.

Developed by Gava Tech Pte Ltd, the app enables users to easily create crowdfunding campaigns for various personal events and social causes and to promote these campaigns through social media. Its simple and elegant interface allows users smooth navigation, and the availability of several payment options — both online and offline — makes it easier for contributors to support the campaigns that they want.

Gava intends to make it fun and easy to chip in and give gifts to family and friends. And with its partnerships with a growing number of organisations like World Vision, Unicef, Operation Blessing, Save the Children, WWF, CARA, Haribon Foundation, and Children’s Hour, Gava aims to help the people who want to donate to charities but do not know where or how to start.

A new way of giving

Users can create a crowdfunding campaign by choosing the kind of campaign they want. The app has several options under three categories: Gifts of Love (for wedding funds and registry), Gifts of Smile (for celebrations like birthdays, graduations, and housewarmings), and Gifts of Hope (for donations to different charities and social causes).

Depending on the type of campaign the users choose, they will either be asked to name a target fund, choose a gift from the wide selection of items in the online store, or choose a cause they want to champion.

What makes Gava different from other crowdfunding websites, apart from being free of fees, is that it also allows users to earn points every time they create a campaign or contribute to a gift. Earned points can be converted into a personal gift or donated to a cause of the user’s choice.

Singapore-registered but operating in the Philippines, Gava has launched 2,800 gift campaigns and has fulfilled 1,000 causes since it’s inception in 2015. It is available on web and the app is available for Android and iOS.
