Star Wars-themed GrabCars will roam the far off worlds of Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok until December 30
This festive season, GrabTaxi‘s ridesharing service GrabCar has announced that it will launch 150 special Star Wars-themed GrabCars in Kuala Lumpur, Manila, Ho Chi Minh and Bangkok. This is part of GrabCar’s campaign regional marketing campaign in collaboration with Disney Southeast Asia. This promotion starts from today and will last until December 30.
The GrabCars will feature the artwork of the classic Stormtrooper and BB-8, the ever adorable orange astromech droid.
“Our Star Wars-themed GrabCars celebrate the release of the new Star Wars: The Force Awakens movie and will make one’s commute more entertaining,” said Cheryl Goh, Group VP of Marketing, GrabTaxi Holdings.

“It is a full-on Star Wars immersion when they book our Star-Wars themed GrabCars to take them and from the cinema to catch the movie,” she added.
GrabTaxi will also be wrapping 100 GrabTaxis and 400 GrabBikes in Indonesia, and 30 GrabBikes in Philippines, with the Star-Wars themed artwork. The promotion in Philippines, however, will be extended until January 16.
To book a Star Wars-themed GrabCar, simply select the “STAR WARS GrabCar” option in the GrabTaxi app.
Users who ride these Star Wars-themed GrabCars will stand a chance to win a pair of movie tickets to Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Winners will be chosen randomly and will be notified two days after their ride. GrabCar will also give away Star Wars merchandise for users who snap and share a photo of the Star Wars-themed GrabCars on their social media accounts.
No word on whether Han Solo or Chewbacca will be at the helm of these cars.
