Hyderabad and San Francisco-based mobile marketing SaaS AppVirality announced today a US$500,000 funding round — bringing total funding raised in 2015 to just under US$1 million.

According to the company, the funding came from existing investor Clicklabs and new angels. The names specifically cited by the company were Rajan Anandan, Managing Director of Google India and Bikky Khosla, Founder of TradeIndia.

“[The money] will be mainly used to innovate the product further and explore international markets. We are also looking at building our team size to 25 in the next six months. We have many open positions at the moment and we aim at attracting a lot of fresh talent,” Laxman Papineni, CEO of AppVirality, told e27.

About a year old, AppVirality is an SaaS platform for mobile marketing and claims to have helped its clients achieve a total of 1.5 million installs. The plug-and-play platform allows app marketers to choose from 10 growth strategies and turn each hack on and off depending on its success.

“This is a more swift and convenient way as compared to building hacks and wasting precious hours of development. A single SDK and DIY dashboard enables you to play with growth techniques. No coding required, and no updates on play/app store every time [a company] changes the hack or settings,” said Papineni.

The company generates revenue by charging customers based on Monthly Active User statistics as well as Cost Per Install for enterprise clients. According to Papineni, ticket sizes can range from US$399 per month to US$30,000, depending on the client.

The goal for the next year is to be live on over 500 apps and a monthly revenue of US$100,000.
