Taskbob, a Mumbai-based mobile-only on-demand home services startup, has acquired Zepper.in, a portal offering practical solutions related to finding trusted, effective professionals for common household services, such as home cleaning, drivers and home repairs, in Bangalore.

With this acquisition, Taskbob is expanding its footprints into Bangalore, and it will now have access to Zepper’s 300-400 service professionals catering to 2,500 customers.

“With the acquisition, we aim to leverage our robust technology platform and industry experience to replicate our success in the Bangalore market. We aim to service around 1,000 orders a day in Bangalore over the next six-nine months,” said Taskbob’s Founder and CEO Aseem Khare.

“In the recent past, the hyperlocal home services industry has seen exponential growth fragmented with multiple players and poised to become the next centre of growth. Our acquisition of Zepper signals the beginning of consolidation in the industry,” he added.

Founded in November 2014, Taskbob offers instant home services by sending pre-screened, verified, skilled professional serviceman to your doorstep to fix your household appliances such as AC, washing machine, computer and refrigerator. The firm takes referrals of friends, fellow users and choose the best servicemen in the locality.

In April this year, Taskbob raised US$1.2 million funding from Orios Venture Partners and Mayfield Fund.

Other players in the home services industry include Zimmber, TimeSaverz, UrbanClap, Doormint, and EasyFix.
