#Asia India’s Nexus Venture Partners closes US$450M in fourth fund

Leading Indian venture capital firm Nexus Venture Partners has announced closing of US$450 million towards its fourth fund.

As per an official statement, most of the capital commitment came from its long-term investors, who partnered with the VC firm in the previous funds.

This brings Nexus’s total capital under management to over US$1 billion.

Nexus’s investors include endowments, foundations, and financial institutions across North America, Europe and Asia.

Started in 2006, Nexus is focussed on seed- and early-stage companies. It invests in technology- and data-led businesses that are disrupting consumer retail, financial services, healthcare and education markets, and in enterprise technologies that are enhancing productivity and lowering time to market.

The fund has an active portfolio of over 60 companies, including Craftsvilla, OLX, ShopClues, Snapdeal, Stayzilla, Delhivery, Netmagic, RoadRunnr, Suminter, Unicommerce, Druva, HelpShift, Pubmatic and Scalearc.

Nexus has earlier raised three funds — Fund I (US$100 million) was announced in 2007, Fund II (US$220 million) closed mid-2008, and Fund III (US$270 million) in the end of 2012.

The VC firm has offices in India and Silicon Valley.
