The surge of mobile phones has created new opportunities for entrepreneurs and completely changed the economics of business. The constant consumption of apps by consumers have attracted various companies across the world to invest in and build the app economy. Nowadays, on a single tap, groceries can be ordered at home, leisure and entertainment services can be availed, and a ride can be requested.

Gigato, a mobile platform that allows app publishers to reward its users with recharge packs of unrestricted mobile data, highlights the app usage trends by Indians in 2015. Gigato claims to have more than 200,000 downloads till date.

According to the findings of Gigato’s survey, while Flipkart emerged as the most popular amongst shopping apps despite its operational issues, foodpanda dominated the food delivery space.
