The firm claims to distribute over 1,000 brands and 300,000 products, and has a presence in 10 cities
While B2C e-commerce companies like Flipkart and Snapdeal have become household names in India, B2B companies such as Industrybuying and Moglix are slowly getting traction. The popularity and acceptance prompted many entrepreneurs in the country to work around e-commerce and launch different unique business models like B2C and B2B logistics.
That said, none has ever dared to get into the B2R (brand to retailer) commerce model. India-based Just By Live is an exception.
This startup has launched a mobile app that directly connects brands across multiple categories to retailers in India. It has just announced US$20 million funding from Alpha Capital, a PE investment management firm in Mumbai, for this creative concept.
“Just Buy is primarily about sound unit economics where every transaction is profitable and customer acquisition and retention is cost efficient. Just Buy is not merely a startup but is a mega e-corporation in the making,” said CEO and Co-founder Sahil Sani.
The startup was founded in February 2015 by Sani and Bharat Balachandran.
Just Buy Live follows a B2R business model, wherein it provides retailers access to a large number of products across hundreds of categories from thousands of brands. Retailers can buy 24×7, avail every scheme on offer by every brand or manufacturer, get their order delivered directly to shop and communicate directly with the brand teams.
Retailers also get access to structured credit for their working capital needs from Just Pay Credit.
Just Buy Live distributes across categories and products, including FMCG, packaged food, water & beverages, lighting & electricals, mobiles & mobile accessories, consumer durables, cosmetics, watches, auto accessories & auto parts, sports goods, apparel, toys & games, software, religious articles, and industrial supplies.
Just Buy is purely brand aligned, supplying goods directly from brand to retailer wherein every product available is listed and priced by the brand.
The firm distributes over 1,000 brands and 300,000 products. It now aims to have 10,000 brands and 1 million products on offer reaching out to one million retailers by the end of 2016.
Currently, Just Buy Live operates across 15 cities in 10 states, with an aim to expand to 500 cities and towns by the end of this year.
