Over the past nine months, mChamp claims to have conducted 50 celebrity meet-and-greets for mChamp contestants

mChamp Entertainments, a Delhi-based startup offering a celebrity- and entertainment-driven contest app, has bagged INR 5 crore (US$740,000) in seed funding from MoMagic Technologies, a mobile Internet market and app ecosystem player.

Launched in 2015, mChamp is a contest type funtastic app that can bring everyone closer to the celebrities. The app enables users to compete for a chance to meet and take selfies with the stars in the music, movie and sports domains. And as you play, you collect passes and increase probability of being the lucky winner.

The contest is open to people of all age groups.

Over the past nine months, mChamp claims to have conducted 50 celebrity meet-and-greets for mChamp contestants. Gift vouchers, cash prizes, free recharges worth INR 25 lakh (US$37,000) have already been given, till date.

The app is witnessing a 15 per cent growth month-on-month, in terms of tie-ups and partnerships with leading FMCG brands, celebrity shows (TV /concerts) and productions houses.

Arun Gupta, Founder and CEO of MoMagic said: “We believe mChamp has all the ingredients to emerge as No. 1 app in terms of a connect with the masses wide across. And fits well with MoMagic business plans; hence, the decision to seed fund mChamp.”
