RoadGods is an online marketplace for outdoor and automotive products, while PindropMusic lets users enjoy music based on various factors that affect their mood
Gurgaon-based startup accelerator Green House Ventures (GHV) has picked two new startups for its latest batch.
Since GHV picks up startups between the incubation and venture capital stages, these startups have already gone through the incubation stage, have a proof of concept, revenue model and a credible team in place.
Founded by Apoorv Mangalam and Ashish Kumar, RoadGods is a product experience design startup which has created innovative products under the category of outdoor and moto gear. RoadGods has also built an online marketplace to bring together outdoor and automotive products.
The startup has over 3,500 orders so far and has 4200-plus registered customers.
PindropMusic was founded by Prankush Roopanwal, Sumit Chakraborty, and Vishu Gupta. It is a music discovery app that lets users enjoy music based on various factors that affect an individual’s mood. People can choose the kind of music they want to listen to at any given point in time, based on their mood, which depends on their location, weather conditions, time of the day and their activity.
Users can also share their music recommendations in a unique way by ‘Pindropping’ their choice of music in the respective locations for others to capture. One can also create and share their playlists. It also has a search option wherein one can enter any keyword, which maybe a mood, genre etc. and the app finds the most suitable music for the user accordingly.
PindropMusic also provides an opportunity to new artists by displaying their music as ‘pindrops’ to the relevant users and then providing them with real-time statistics of the usage to gauge the response of their listeners.
The app claims to have got 10,000-plus downloads, 60 per cent retention rate, and 8,000 pindrops. The iOS-only app has users in the US, and Europe.
Started in 2014 by Vikram Upadhyaya, a serial entrepreneur and a member of Indian Angel Network, GHV Accelerator funds and mentor startups between the incubation and venture capital stages, and provides them a controlled environment, and necessary resources. It also offers sustainability funding of up to US$100,000, so they can scale up and achieve healthy business metrics.
