When the one-year growth in Southeast Asia hits 700 per cent, it is wise to reinvest in that region

A San Francisco-based company that facilitates user acquisition through social media, video and re-engagement strategies, announced today it is expanding its presence in Jakarta and making Southeast Asia a priority moving forward.

The company is actively moving into Asia and in February it opened an office in Tokyo.

YouAppi says it already had clients in the region, but the new office will allow it to ramp of services to Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam.

A significant reason why the company is entering the reason is because it saw a 700 per cent year-on-year growth in the region from 2015 to 2016. In terms of app installs, the company says this fact vaulted the region into a world leader in terms of app downloads.

“We began 2016 by committing to Asia, and after generating over 700 per cent growth last year, we’re supporting our commitment by re-investing revenue generated in Southeast Asia to grow our team,” said Moshe Vaknin, the CEO and Co-founder of YouAppi in a statement.

Sifting through Big Data

YouAppi falls into the category of ‘big data analysis’ and helps companies sift through mountains of data to find actionable insights.

The company’s flagship programme is called OneRun and it provides a single point for media buys and uses machine-learning and AI to analyse 250 terabytes of data every day.

For example, the testimonial on the company website reads as follow:

“OneRun understands that Brianna is starting to plan a vacation to the Caribbean based on her browsing behavior and what other people in her cohort are doing.

We can serve up the right media to her based on her patterns.”

It claims it can analyse the mobile content consumption of over 1.5 billion people.

Recognisable clients in the region include the OTT video streaming service HOOQ, Blanja, Singtel and the Indonesian unicorn Tokopedia.

The company will put Anna Mareta in charge of the region. She was most recently worked for a different mobile marketing company name Adknowledge Asia Pacific.
