Music and video streaming service Spotify announced on Sunday through its Facebook page that it will debut its entry to Indonesia on March 30.

“We are excited to announce that Spotify will be available in Indonesia in just 10 days! Stay tuned for more updates,” according to a statement on the Facebook page.

The Swedish company had also launched a Spotify Indonesia Twitter handle (@SpotifyID) with the hashtag ‘#Waktunya Spotify’ (#TimeForSpotify).

Kompas Tekno also reported the possibility of the service to be integrated to Facebook Messenger app, as the company had announced plan to provide music streaming service through the app earlier in March.

Spotify feature can already be found on Facebook Messenger app, though it is still unable to be used.

Once Spotify enters Indonesian market, it will have to compete with existing music streaming services such as Langit Musik, MelOn Indonesia, and Guvera. Even Ohdio had to spent some time in limbo before coming back with new back-up by Pranala Group.

It will also face the challenge of slow e-payment growth in the country, in which bank transfer and cash-on-delivery remain favourite payment methods for e-commerce platform users.
