The app aims to bridge the gap between the music lovers and artists by providing live tune-in access to their favourite nightclubs

Streo Technologies, an Indian live music streaming startup, has raised an undisclosed amount of investment from startup fund GEMs advisory and micro VC fund-cum-accelerator Quarizon.

Founded in December 2015 by Arush Dhawan, Prerana Dhawan and Pranav Trehan, Streo brings a curated music experience for users from across the world. The startup aims to bridge the gap between the music lovers and artists by providing live tune-in access to their favourite nightclubs through the app.

The app also gives users access to the latest trends in music real time, saving them the trouble of making or updating a playlist. Users can play a gig of the genre they like or are in the mood for. Streo mainly caters to the users, artists, night clubs and festival organisers.

The app is available on both iOS and Android platforms.

“We are receiving a lot of interest from nightclubs and independent artists from multiple locations and have partnered with the more popular nightclubs in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore, Goa and Pune since March 2016. The investment from Quarizon will help us in rapidly expanding our partnerships with nightclubs and artists, thereby providing users a diverse experience,” said Dhawan.

In the last few years, the Indian music industry has seen a meteoritic rise in the popularity of live gigs. Nightclubs, bars and pubs have become a regular haunt for the current generation and live music at these locations, their preferred poison. However, the possibility of music and nightlife live streaming depends on their availability, time and location of the live gig.

“Streo is an innovative idea and is addressing a nascent opportunity in the music and nightlife sector. Being the first movers in this ecosystem, it gives them an upper hand to capture the market,” said Aditya Gupta, Chairman at Quarizon.
