After teasing its fans for months, American technology and entertainment company Netflix, which used to boast 69 million members in more than 50 countries, has finally gone global. Earlier Thursday, it made worldwide news by announcing that it is available in every country you can find on the globe, except China, North Korea, Syria and Crimea.

Finally, people in most of Asia can “Netflix and chill” without a virtual proxy network. For those who still want to test the waters and see how it works before paying the full US$7.99/month subscription, can even do so with a free one-month trial.

The service allows people to watch as many shows available on the platform as they like. However, certain shows may not be listed and broadcast on Netflix due to various legal issues concerning copyright ownership.

But, while you’re Netflix and chilling, which by the way means something more than playing an episode (ha ha ha, we really mean 13 episodes) of Orange is the New Black or The Search For General Tso or Scrubs and hanging out with your “friend”, don’t forget that the service is manned by people, not tiny elves dressed in green and red.

Although most of its employees and potential hires are and will be based in the US, we checked its openings for its Asian operations, mainly for its Japan and Singapore office.

It has already hired Jessica Lee, formerly with McDonalds’, as its APAC Communications Director and we can’t wait to see who else will be on its payroll in Asia Pacific.
