With India’s growing mobile activations, the country’s e-commerce industry is seeing a bright future

India’s coupon site Coupon Hippo has recently released an infographic about the future of e-commerce in the country. For e-commerce startups, these facts are not to be missed.

Some of the stuff you should take note of include:

• By 2021, India will have 549 million Internet users (making it the second biggest Internet Audience, behind China)
• India will have the biggest Facebook audience in the world
• 70 per cent of total Internet usage (Apps & browsing) will be done via a mobile device
• 60 per cent of online purchases happen during business hours (between 12pm-5pm and on Wednesday & Thursday)
• Top 10 e-commerce categories: clothing, mobiles, coupons, books, music, travel, home furnishings, cosmetics, baby care, footwear
