FlySpaces will be exhibiting among Asia-Pacific’s best startups at Echelon Asia Summit 2016 as a representative of Philippines.
Finishing up the Southeast Asian leg for Echelon was the TOP100 Philippine qualifiers, held in the innovatively designed quarters of A SPACE Philippines. As Filipinos continually showcase a wide variety of talents, the twelve startups that pitched ranged from various industries, touching on ed-tech all the way to web security. Each startup was given three minutes to pitch and five minutes for Q&A, competing for the SGD$500 cash prize and a booth package at Echelon Asia Summit 2016.
The judges present on the panel were a mix of regional and local players in the region:
- Koichi Saito – Founder & General Partner, KK Fund
- Justin Hall – Principal, Golden Gate Ventures
- Meg Charles-Horn – Seed Investor & Growth Strategist
- John Orrock – Founder & CEO, Future Now Ventures
FlySpaces won after a long deliberation from the judges, majority of them voting for the “Airbnb for office and other commercial spaces” that received the greatest traction among all the startups that pitched.
Founded by Mario Stark, FlySpaces is an online search and booking engine for short-term offices, event spaces, and pop-up retail stores for any customer’s business needs. Its objective is to truly empower small and medium enterprise owners and entrepreneurs by giving them flexibility on where to rent.
Compared to other startups pitching, FlySpaces has already gone live in not only the Philippines but also Singapore as well, acquiring merchants quickly for its Southeast Asian expansion.
