Amazon is trying to secure its place as the first stop for those who pre-order games.
The company declared Tuesday that it would offer 20% off the price of a new game (which usually hovers around $60, and more for special editions) to Prime users who pre-order the game on Amazon. The discount only applies to physical copies of games, which Amazon says will be delivered on the same day as they are released in stores.
For those who have started going digital-only in their gaming, you seem to be out of luck — though that group of players is ever-growing. Last November’s highly anticipated Fallout 4 sold 1.87 million digital copies in three days, and 1.2 million of those copies were on PC, according to analyst firm SuperData. Read more…
