Part of a cohort of companies operating in the so-called “gig economy,” Australian startup Airtasker has secured a significant new funding round.
On Tuesday, the digital jobs marketplace announced it had successfully raised a Series B round of A$22 million ($16 million). Some unusual investors in Airtasker included Seven West Media, a local media company, and the National Road and Motorists Association, which also participated in a 2015 round.
The new round means the company has raised A$32 million ($24 million) since it was founded in 2012 by Tim Fung and Jonathan Lui.
