#Asia Ex-Rocket Internet execs launch Airbnb property management platform in Singapore, KL and HK

It wants to serve the needs of short-term rental hosts

Ex-Rocket Internet executives have banded together once again for another venture — this time in the housing space.

Today marks the official launch of their new property management platform, GuestReady, in six countries including London, Paris, Amsterdam, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Hong Kong. It targets Airbnb, HomeAway, hosts as well as real estate investors.

The list of host services GuestReady provides include laundry, cleaning, check-in and check-out of guests, as well as guest communication, maintaining listings on multiple short-term rental sites.

A host can select between two packages: full property management (including offline and online operations) or stand-alone services, meaning the host can customise the what property managing processes he or she needs.

More features are in the pipeline including a more sophisticated yield management tool, a channel manager for short-term rental websites, or an integrated guest communication and booking tracking ability.

GuestReady currently has between two and four service providers and more than 10 properties in each city, and aims to onboard hundreds more by the end of 2016. It is already accruing revenue in the thousands range.

The startup was founded by foodpanda‘s former Country Managing Director of Taiwan and Philippines, Alexander Limpert; and ZALORA Malaysia‘s Head of Partnership & Offline Marketing, Wen Dee Tan.

“As the short-term rental industry is maturing, there is a natural need for more efficiency, professionalism, and standardisation. Especially with business travellers, the property and any service related to a stay need to be of immaculate quality. For non-professional hosts, this is hard to achieve, which is where we step in,” said Limpert, in an official press statement.

With regards to funding, GuestReady is backed by Switzerland’s Swiss Founders Fund with an undisclosed sum.

“Living and work patterns are becoming ever more mobile and the 12-month rental agreement or a room in a hotel is often not an adequate solution anymore for today’s business travellers, digital nomads or city hoppers. Short-term rentals offer a great alternative for these audiences,” said Romano Brandenberg, Venture Partner at Swiss Founders Fund.
