Australian startup Shoes of Prey has found that on-demand footwear is big business.
On Tuesday, the company, which allows women to design their own shoes online and have them mailed to their door, announced it had raised US$15.5 million (A$21.4 million) in a new funding round led by BlueSky Venture Capital. The bumper figure brings their total funding so far to US$24.6 million (A$33.9 million).
Founded in Australia in 2009, the startup has taken on the U.S. market, establishing physical points of presence in six Nordstrom department store locations, as well as on the company’s website. The U.S. retailer has now come on as an equity partner in the latest funding round. Read more…
