#USA Rich venture capitalist says startups create social inequality and that’s cool with him

Do you hate the idea of economic inequality? Well then you must also hate startups, you fool.

That is the crux of a curious and controversial new essay published this weekend by Paul Graham, a venture capitalist and influential thinker in the startup world, coming out in defense of economic inequality (yes, you read that right).

“You can’t end economic inequality without preventing people from getting rich, and you can’t do that without preventing them from starting startups,” Graham writes. “So let’s be clear about that. Ending economic inequality would mean ending startups. Are you sure, hunters, that you want to shoot this particular animal? It would only mean you eliminated startups in your own country.” Read more…
