If you spent any time on Twitter Monday afternoon, you likely are aware that Slack was down for a couple hours for many users.
While the millions of non-Slack users went about their day as usual, for the company’s million or so daily users, the downtime inspired a much different response. Momentary freak-outs over service disruptions are nothing new, but Slack’s outage is significant for more than the pithy reactions it inspired.
The issue began at 11:50 a.m. PT, when the company said it was investigating “sporadic connectivity issues,” according the company’s status dashboard. The issue was finally resolved more than two and a half hours later at 2:24 p.m. PT.
